Japanese market rise as Hang Seng drops

The Shanghai Composite Index of Chinese companies declined 0.5% to 2,832.28, while The FTSE Straits Times Index of Singapore stocks increased 0.3% to 3,149.29. South Korea’s KOSPI Composite Index gained 1.3% to 2,472.74, while Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Benchmark Index added 1.0% to 7,421.20.
