In a splashy press conference on the field of the Caesars Superdome, Gov.-elect Jeff Landry on Wednesday named a new  — and pledged to use the state's prosecutorial powers to crack down on New Orleans crime. Major Robert Hodges will take over State Police after overseeing Region 2 Patrol, which encompasses eighteen southern parishes and includes Troop C in Gray, Troop D in Lake Charles, and Troop I in Lafayette.
