New opioid treatment in Staten Island program saves lives, offers hope to addicts

Opioid overdoses dropped dramatically for addicts in an experimental drug treatment program , fueling hope it could ultimately save thousands and helpravaging New York. Two overdose fatalities of addicts participating in the program, which began in March 2022, were reported compared with 11 who did not, according to a new analysis.
