NASA loses contact with Voyager 2 spacecraft, operating almost 12.4 billion miles from Earth

NASA lost contact with its Voyager 2 spacecraft and it's possible that communications won't resume until mid-October, the space agency said Friday. Voyager 2, located nearly 12.4 billion miles from Earth, is currently unable to send data back to Earth or receive commands.
