Texas troopers told to push migrant children into Rio Grande

Texas state troopers have been ordered to push children back into the water if they are apprehended while trying to cross the border from Mexico via the Rio Grande river. The officers were also ordered not to give migrants water, even in extreme heat. The policies were brought to light by a state Department of Public Safety officer who described the proposed actions as “inhumane,” according to the Houston Chronicle.
