A magnitude 5.4 earthquake was reported at 4:19 p.m. Thursday 25 miles from Susanville, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The earthquake occurred 35 miles from Magalia, 38 miles from Paradise, 42 miles from Chico and 52 miles from Oroville. In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
