More than 43,000 aquatic animals have died in the aftermath of the Northern Suffolk freight train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, earlier this month, according to local authorities. Nearly 3,000 dead fish were found in waterways around the town, according to Mary Mertz, director of Ohio’s Department of Natural Resources.
