The Gorham girls’ basketball team kept looking to its leader with the season on the line. And Ellie Gay kept delivering. Gay hit a tying 3-pointer in the final minute of regulation, and then hit the go-ahead basket in overtime to lead No. 3 Gorham past No. 2 Sanford, 40-37, in the Class AA South semifinals at the Cross Insurance Arena.
