Wall Street stocks edge higher after reports on economy, earnings

Stocks are ticking higher on Wall Street on Thursday following reports suggesting the economy and corporate profits may be doing better than predicted. The Standard & Poor's 500 was 0.6% higher in morning trading. The Dow Jones industrial average was up 25 points, or 0.1%, at 33,767, as of 7:17 a.m. Pacific time, and the Nasdaq composite was 1.1% higher.
