‘Blue Alert’ activated in Florida, but what does it mean?

Florida phones rang out Thursday with loud sounds in what may have first been perceived as an AMBER or Silver Alert. It was a Blue Alert. The alert went off Thursday morning and afternoon informing residents of Daytona Beach Police Department and other Florida law enforcement agencies conducting a statewide man hunt for Othal Wallace, who they say shot a DBPD officer in the head Wednesday night.
