Letters: Schools should teach students that they're accountable for performance

In response to a on Jan. 17, I take issue with some of Mr. Taylor's thoughts.If our public schools were a business, it would have filed for bankruptcy decades ago. Many of our public school systems have not met their mission statement. They have performed abysmally. Mr. Taylor advocates doing away with grades and class scores.
