Frank Galati, a writer, director, and actor whose work in Chicago, especially his celebrated adaptation of “The Grapes of Wrath,” furthered that city’s international reputation in theater, and whose long resume included directing the Broadway hit “Ragtime,” died Monday in Sarasota, Fla.
