Man removed from home after police respond to barricade situation in East Cambridge

A man barricaded himself inside a Cambridge home Monday evening after police responded to a report of an armed assault, setting up a standoff that ended peacefully as officers removed the man from the home after a couple of hours, authorities said.The man, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital to be evaluated for drugs and alcohol, said Jeremy Warnick, a spokesman for the Cambridge Police Department.
