Cracker Barrel Falls as 1Q Profit Drops, Inventories Rise

For the three months ended Oct. 28, the Lebanon, Tenn., restaurant chain posted earnings of $17.1 million, or 77 cents a share, nearly halved from $33.4 million, or $1.41 a share, a year earlier. Adjusted earnings came to 99 cents a share, below the Wall Street forecast of $1.22 a share, according to FactSet.
