It seems to me that it would be in Kevin McCarthy’s interest to keep the Jan. 6 committee alive after the new Congress is seated. It would certainly help ensure that Trump’s wrongdoings would continue to be revealed, thus diminishing the threat of that malignant, narcissistic sociopath from regaining political power, and allowing the Republican Party to pull back from the un-electable extremes to which the MAGA crowd have dragged it.
