Portland councilor faces challenge from 2 newcomers in at-large race

Portland’s longest-tenured city councilor is facing challenges from two political newcomers in the race for an at-large seat. Pious Ali, 53, is the director of the nonprofit Portland Empowered and has served six years on the City Council as well as three years on the school board.
