Harold Garde never stopped making art, or caring about the world

In the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic, artist Harold Garde starred in a public service announcement in which he told viewers in no uncertain terms — growling an expletive — to wear their masks. It was par for the course for the longtime New Smyrna Beach resident whose artistic temperament was mixed with a keen interest in social issues. Outspoken, pioneering and indefatigable, Garde died Oct. 11 at the home of a friend in New Smyrna Beach.... + full article
