Douglas Kirkland, a photojournalist and portraitist whose subjects included Marilyn Monroe wrapped in a silk sheet and Coco Chanel at work in her Paris atelier, died Oct. 2 at his home in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles.
