My Epic Struggle to Get My Son to Swing at One Single Youth-Baseball Pitch

My son prefers not to swing. He plays second base in a Powder Springs, Georgia, youth baseball league with 50 or so other 11- and 12-year-olds, none of whom are very good pitchers. These kids aren’t East Cobb Astros, the budding major leaguers on the other side of metro Atlanta whose parents fund year-round multimillion-dollar showcases and tournaments.
