After reading the Oct. 1 editorial, “Lessons from Hurricane Ian that Florida must heed,” I thought “Finally the voice of reason.” Florida is just an ancient coral reef with some dirt on top. Shifting sands, sinkholes and storms: that is our state. We are at the mercy of nature and we cannot control it.
