Although he received a double lung transplant last year, when Edgardo Diaz became sick with COVID-19 in April, he showed no fear. “I wasn’t scared,” said the 30-year-old Oak Forest resident. “I’ve been through worse.” Diaz has cystic fibrosis, a disorder that causes damage to the lungs, digestive system and other organs.
