Seven years working in the meat industry turned Andre Menezes off from eating animals — most of the time. During his time working for a poultry exporter in Singapore, Menezes remembers standing in a supermarket, looking at a chicken imported from Brazil and a block of ice cut from a river in Malaysia, just 20 or 30 miles away.
