Auto theft zoomed up 17% in Big Apple: NYPD data

Car thefts are in the BigApple. Through Nov. 26, 14,381 vehicles have been ripped off in New York City — 17% more than the 12,262 in the same period last year, NYPD data show. Thieves are having a grand theft auto time in The Bronx, where 4,694 vehicles have been boosted compared to 3,566 in 2022, a 34% surge.
