Australia Building Consents Jump 7.5% In October

The total number of building permits issued in Australia was up a seasonally adjusted 7.5 percent on month in October, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday - standing at 14,223.That beat forecasts for an increase of 1.4 percent following the 4.0 percent decline in September.On a yearly basis, permits were down 6.1 percent.Permits for private sector houses added 2.2 percent on month and shed 8.1 percent on year at 8,505.
