Letters: YMCA project deserves greater public scrutiny

I meant to respond to an Advocate from a couple of months ago about the plan to demolish the A.C. Lewis YMCA and replace it with a new YMCA and an affordable housing project. Now that demolition has started, I’m finally inspired to say something. The “old” A.C. Lewis YMCA wasn’t old (it had been renovated a couple of times over the last 15 years), and it was a great (albeit underused) facility. The workout areas, large gym, two pools,... + full article
