Letters: More with hearing loss would benefit from captioning rather than interpreters

Being a deaf person whose wife is a retired registered nurse, we read with interest the opinion voiced in a recent edition of the newspaper by the Louisiana Association of the Deaf that without adequate quality in-person interpreters, deaf and hard-of-hearing persons in medical need of care, cannot “fully participate in their own care.”Not so, in our opinion.
