Last month Morgan Talty picked up yet another major prize for his debut story collection “Night of the Living Rez,” when he won the National Book Critics Circle John Leonard Prize. Talty’s collection of 12 stories about life on the Penobscot Indian Nation Reservation in Maine was previously named a Best Book of 2022 by The New York Times and NPR, among others.
