Former Mets minor leaguer Matt Pobereyko dies at 31

Former New York Mets minor league pitcher Matt Pobereyko has died at the age of 31. Pobereyko’s death was confirmed in a tweet by the Mexican Pacific winter baseball league on Feb. 25. A native of Hammond, Ind., Pobereyko bounced around the minor and independent leagues for several years, spending time at different levels of the Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Mets and Miami Marlins organizations.
