MLB’s Joint Competition Committee makes extra-innings ghost runner rule permanent

Baseball is going to look different this spring with the introduction of new rules. Larger bases, a pitch clock and limitations on defensive shifts are expected to lead to quicker games with more action on the basepaths. But there are two more rules coming this season. Per ESPN, MLB’s Joint Competition Committee voted to make the extra-innings ghost runner rule permanent in the regular season and place restrictions on position player pitching.... + full article
