State authorities seized more than a metric ton of shad from two unlicensed fishermen who used dip nets in the University Lakes, the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries said in a news release Monday.Calvin Chenier, 22, and 63-year-old Calvin Simoneaux, both of Churchpoint, were cited for taking or selling commercial fish without a commercial gear license, according to the news release.
