Rooftop fire erupts at exclusive Casa Cipriani hotel in NYC

A fire erupted Saturday at Casa Cipriani, the members-only hotel, restaurant and lounge atop the iconic Battery Maritime Building in Lower Manhattan. Video posted on by a person traveling by ferry showed flames engulfing a section of the hotspot’s terrace lounge as a worker used a fire extinguisher in vain trying to put them out. The FDNY responded to a five-story waterfront building at 3:51 p.m. and had the blaze under control by 4:27 p.m.... + full article
